RAW RADIANT HEALTH COMMUNITY
Aloha! And Welcome.
I believe in living out your passions.
I believe in the strength of a truly open heart.
I believe in raw, radiant health.
WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO BE RAW?
Something that is raw is in its natural state. The raw life is a life lived fully, with maximal health and wellness. It is a process of exploration and courage. By embracing where are at, we can begin to make changes. Removing the obstacles to cure is the basis of naturopathic medicine. Unburdened, the innate wisdom of the body governs optimal functioning.
RAW FOOD, RAW LIFE, RAW ENERGY!
Being healthy means being free of toxins, chemicals and preservatives. Eating raw, organic food eliminates toxins from our diet in the form of allergens, preservatives, and chemicals. Toxins are most highly concentrated in cooked oils, meat, dairy and non-organic produce. Most meat produced today is both toxic to the body and unsustainable for the earth. A raw food diet is mostly plant based, incorporating fruits, vegetables, seeds, nuts, grains and oils. While I was in Hawaii, I learned about the benefits of a raw food diet during detoxification. Through scientifically derived nutritional information, and creative cooking I enjoyed some of the best meals of my life, which not only tasted great but were good for me. I went through an intense detoxification process that began with a water fast and felt more alive than I had felt in years. While not all people can tolerate a 100% raw food diet, learning how to increase your intake of raw food is wonderful for your health, delicious and better for the environment. Raw food is an important part of a detoxification program and something I feel passionately about.
WHY I CHOSE NATUROPATHIC MEDICINE
While I was growing up, my family used both the conventional and naturopathic medical systems. Training to be a professional dancer in Vancouver, I embarked on a lifelong journey of health and wellbeing after a trauma injury prevented me from continuing. Following a BSc. at the University of Victoria I was drawn to the field of natural medicine because of its wide array of treatment options, personalized medical plans and ability to identify and treat the cause of illness or injury. Naturopathic medicine is a growing field based in the ancient art of healing while incorporating evidenced-based treatments to promote ultimate health and wellbeing. We are always learning.
CHRONIC PAIN MANAGEMENT AND PHYSICAL MEDICINE
The treatment of chronic pain is multifaceted. It requires an all-area approach that is individualized to each person. Chronic pain is something I have experienced first hand and spent the last 14 years learning about. One of the least addressed and most important areas of chronic pain treatment is addressing the mind and spirit. The other is the nervous system. In addition to my education as a doctor, I have sought the teachings of more alternative practitioners and taken courses in alternative treatments such as: crystal healing, intuition and reiki. I was trained in Neuroprolotherapy in Hawaii which is used to treat the nerves surrounding injured joints and tissues.
It is necessary to address and acknowledge all the parts of our human condition if we are to live a raw, radiant life. By combining the principles of naturopathic medicine, physical medicine and the raw life philosophy, I have created a unique program of personal wellness that addresses the body, mind and spirit. I am interested and dedicated in walking this particular path of healing with you.
Will you join me?
